Celebrated Scottish composer John Lunn visits the festival to discuss his award-winning career and a life's passion for music and creation stemming from his childhood in Scotland. Perhaps best known for scoring Downton Abbey for which he has received two Primetime Emmy Awards and two BAFTA nominations, John’s CV also features the scores for Netflix’s The Last Kingdom, ITV’s The Grantchester Mysteries, BBC’s Shetland and three adaptations of Charles Dickens classics: the BBC/Masterpiece centenary adaptation of The Mystery Of Edwin Drood, for which he was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award, a re-imagining of Little Dorrit, which garnered both a BAFTA nomination and his first Primetime Emmy nomination, and Bleak House for which he received RTS Best Score and Best Title nominations. He discusses his journey into television and film music composition in a talk co-presented with Music Nairn.
