Philip Cormie of Till and Wild will discuss creating a wildlife garden in the Highlands. A former Head Gardener at the Himalayan Garden in North Yorkshire, Philip implemented significant environmentally conscious changes to the management strategy there, adopting organic principles across the garden with the eradication of pesticides and a more naturalistic planting scheme with pollinators being a key driver in plant choices.
In 2019 Philip became Head Gardener at Newby Hall in North Yorkshire where he oversaw the start of an ambitious five year project to restore their nationally important rock garden, and the maintenance of one of the biggest double herbaceous borders in Britain.
Now based in the Highlands, he runs Till and Wild, a nature-driven, plant-focused horticultural consultancy with his wife Gabrielle Laidlaw.
