Tour - Nairn Golf Club Archive Room

Nairn Golf Club,
2 Sep – 28 Aug

Join Club Archivist Hugh Sutherland for a fascinating 30-minute tour of this remarkable space – a treasure trove of rare books, photographs and artefacts, described as “amazing” by the hugely popular The Chipping Forecast podcast. For golfers and non-golfers alike, the tour offers a unique insight into the legacy of a club founded in 1887 which has hosted legends of the sport and major championships. Discover connections to iconic figures including Ben Hogan, Colin Montgomerie, Viscount Finlay, and former Deputy Prime Minister William Whitelaw who was a lifelong member. In keeping with the festival’s coastal theme, the tour also explores the Club’s deep bond with its dramatic links landscape including its historic bothy and ice house – the only surviving buildings from the Easter Delnies Fishing Station.
