Inspired by the precision and economy of Japanese haiku poetry, Kineku is a short-form film project, transposing the 17 syllables of a haiku into a strict 17 second duration. Kineku's key ambition is to reclaim filmmaking as a personal means of artistic expression that is both widely distributable and highly achievable on a device in their pocket. Participants will have additional post workshop support to finish their Kineku and submit it, ready for an online ‘Premiere’ hosted on the Kineku YouTube Channel and website.
