Workshop - Beginner Weaving Workshop with Claire Fowler

A beginner weaving workshop using table dobby looms, taking place in a small group of 6. The looms will be set up for you with yarn provided and we will talk through the basics of dobby weaving before weaving a small sample, which can then be taken away with you at the end of the workshop. The workshop will be an introduction to table loom weaving and is very much for total beginners. If you have woven on a dobby loom before then this will be too basic for you. 

No experience necessary. Please note this is not a tapestry weaving workshop. Upon booking, more details will be provided about the morning's workshop, facilities and requirements. Toilets and a kitchen are at the venue.

Textile Artist Claire Fowler has a BA(Hons) in Textiles Design (weave) from Glasgow School of Art. A determined career changer from a surveyor to a weaver, she is inspired by pattern and bold colour found in her lived environment. Sustainability is a key factor in her creative practice and
she works with natural, donated and waste bi-product yarns.
