Sailm nan Daoine is a film created by musician, sound designer and composer Rob MacNeacail documenting the evocative and historic tradition of Gaelic Psalm Singing, still practised in churches across the Western Isles. Working across film theatre and broadcast media, Rob’s recent credits include sound design and composition for Paper Portraits and My Best Friend, which received two nominations at the Venice Film Festival. He runs Gaelic Psalm singing workshops across Scotland also precents the psalms at Gaelic church services.
Rob MacNeacail is a musician, sound designer, and composer working across film, theatre, and broadcast media. His recent credits include sound design and composition for Paper Portraits and Caran, alongside dubbing mix and sound design work on Bill Douglas – My Best Friend, which received two nominations at the Venice Film Festival and screened at the Glasgow Film Festival. A native Gaelic speaker from the Scottish Borders, he is also active in community arts and cultural projects throughout Scotland.
