Emily Dodd

Emily's spent seven years working full time in science education, developing and delivering curriculum linked educational resources and shows for museums and charities before becoming a freelance author, educator and screenwriter. She is the author of 23 fiction and non-fiction science books, a screenwriter for CBeebies, a singer-songwriter and BBC radio playwright for children. Emily has a degree in Geophysical Sciences, an MSc in Communicating Science, an HNC in counselling and a NC in art and design. She is currently the Scottish Book Trust Author in Residence at Inverness High School. Emily weaves science, story and a sense of wonder into everything she creates – including her songs which have been described as "The sweeter side of the Velvet Underground".
