Spotlight on... Golf Events
We are delighted to be able to offer some really special events at Nairn Golf Club which is generously sponsoring the festival this year!
This year is a special year for the Club, being the 25th anniversary of the first Walker Cup to be held at Nairn Golf Club. Among several celebratory events, the Club is inviting author Gordon G Simmonds, author of 'The Walker Cup 1922-2023, Golf's Finest Contest (Centenary Edition)' to speak on Thursday 5th September. Enjoy a lively and informative talk by Simmonds on his definitive publication about this prestigious and often closely contested amateur competition, played between teams from the US and Great Britain and Ireland bi-annually since 1922.
The Club is also offering tours of its unparalleled archive on Wednesday 4th September. Packed with historic golfing gems, this is a unique chance to see and learn more about rare artefacts charting not only the history of the Club, but also of the ‘beautiful game’. Tours last for 30 minutes and are led by the Club Archivist Hugh Sutherland.
Be sure to also take up the opportunity for a round of golf on the fantastic 9-hole Cameron Course, at a discounted rate for the day.
Book your tickets here.
Not online? You can pop in to Vitamin Sea Nairn on the High Street to buy your tickets.
All proceeds from these events are being generously donated to the Festival by Nairn Golf Club.
