Join us for an in-conversation and Q&A with Mary Paulson-Ellis, the bestselling author of The Other Mrs Walker - a Times bestseller and Waterstones Scottish Book of the Year  - and The Inheritance of Solomon Farthing, which was long-listed for the McIlvanney Prize for best Scottish crime novel and a Historical Writers’ Association Gold Crown. Mary writes detective novels about the world of people who die with no next-of kin, across the genres of literary, crime and historical fiction. She will be discussing all three of her novels, including her latest book Emily Noble’s Disgrace, her interest in the crime genre and her writing process.
In 2019 Val McDermid named Mary one of the most compelling LGBTQ+ writers working today. She is also the writer for a specially commissioned short story series for BBC Radio 4. The Things We Leave Behind explores a life in five objects. She lives in Edinburgh, where her books are set.
