Murray Pittock is Bradley Professor of Literature at the University of Glasgow and author of many books on Scotland, ranging from Culloden to the Edinburgh Enlightenment, and Jacobitism to the road to independence. His much-acclaimed new book Scotland: The Global History, a Spectator Magazine book of the year choice for 2022, is the first history examining Scotland in a comprehensive global context – both the presence of Scotland, Scots and Scottishness outside Scotland and the impact of the world on Scotland. It is sure to be a talk as engaging, lively and full of insight as his latest book.
