Former stand-up comedian Jenny Colgan has sold over 9 million copies of her books worldwide, in a career spanning over 25 years. After many years of ‘romantic fiction’ being pigeonholed or side-lined, Jenny is at the forefront of writers who are now directly addressing just why things haven’t progressed since the time of Austen, what the genre truly means and why it remains so important for so many.

Her new escapist stand-alone novel is The Summer Skies, featuring Morag, a pilot born into a family of successful pilots who is forced to pass up the opportunity of working in Dubai in order to return to her family home on a Scottish island. While piloting a local plane, Morag is forced to crash-land on a remote island when the weather takes a dramatic turn; she suddenly finds herself alone. Until she encounters Gregor, a gruff and reclusive ornithologist taking care of the islands for the season. Might Morag discover that a remote Scottish island, cut off from ‘real life’, is exactly the place she needs to be?

Jenny Colgan is married with three children and divides her time between Fife and Edinburgh. She is the author of numerous Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling novels and has won various awards for her writing, including the RNA Romantic Novel of the Year Award and the RNA Romantic Comedy Novel of the Year Award.
