Mary and John Wilson – A Celebration

An exhibition of mostly recent paintings by Nairn artists Mary and John Wilson. Mary and John brought so much to the creative community of Nairn over many years as prolific artists and respected art teachers. John was hugely talented and showed his beautiful and original work regularly at the festival, including a stunning solo show in 2018. In 2015, John was the first artist to be commissioned by the festival to create artwork for the cover of the programme. Mary was instigator of – and contributor to – many exhibitions in the town. She was a dedicated and driven member of the festival committee from its earliest days, and designer of the festival’s timeless logo. Mary also ran art classes in the town for many years, which were very popular. As founder members of Blue Door Studios, latterly based at WASPS Links Studios, John and Mary made a huge contribution to the town’s cultural life. This exhibition of paintings and prints offers a taste of the range and talent of these much-missed artists, and we are delighted to announce that many of the artworks displayed will be available to purchase.

Preview event on Saturday 2nd September at 6.30pm

30th August – 28th September. Free entry.
