Sophie Martin

Sophie Martin is an honours student in Creative Writing at the University of Highlands and Islands, and budding fantasy writer in her spare time. 

Sophie joined the Nairn Book & Arts Festival Committee as part of her work experience and remained with the festival with hopes of becoming more familiar with local creative spheres and events, as well as extending her previous volunteer work with children in the Sea Cadet Corps. Creatively inclined, Sophie has a background in music and musical theatre, part of Aurora Productions and Aurora Choir (recipient of the Aberdeen and North East of Scotland Music Festival Mixed Choir award, five years running), with a long history of writing in online spheres that inspired her to seek out her degree. She hopes in the future to have a career in teaching creative writing outside of traditional academic routes.
