MEET THE FESTIVAL TEAM
Olivia Parsons
Festival Assistant
Olivia is the newest addition to the Nairn Book and Arts Festival team, joining as Festival Assistant.
Having studied Theatre Design at UAL Wimbledon College of Arts, Olivia gained internships at Circulate London (Watermans Arts Centre) and OutdoorArtsUK, learning about the worlds of community events and outdoor arts. She continued with both organisations for five years, taking on project coordination and communication roles, coordinating a programme of family-friendly events at multiple venues around outer London each year, and working on events and conferences for outdoor arts professionals at festivals all around the UK. During this time Olivia also worked on Liberty Unbound, the Mayor’s disability arts festival, volunteered at Hillview Festival in King’s Cross, took part in the Roundhouse Future Producers Programme, and sat as a member of the Artichoke Board. In 2022 Olivia worked as the Producer of ANHAD Festival, a one-day South Asian arts festival that took over Hounslow Highstreet with dance performances, family shows, music, opera, drumming processions, and a DJ dance party.
Most recently Olivia has been working as a freelance Communications Coordinator and in her spare time enjoys reading, playing netball, going to the theatre, and exploring the Highlands with her dog. She has a strong interest in community events and outdoor arts, and is really looking forward to getting stuck in and working with the Nairn Book and Arts Festival team in its 21st year.
