Alison’s family roots are in Nairnshire, which she has known and loved all her life, and, as a keen reader of Scottish fiction and non-fiction, she is delighted to have joined the team as a Trustee.

A lawyer by training, after practising for several years in the City of London, Alison spent three decades as a civil servant drafting legislation -- a fascinating, but very particular, kind of writing. She has also served for a decade or more on the boards of two small musical and legal charities. Retirement in 2023 has provided the opportunity to put her experience to use in support of the Nairn Festival, which combines three of her greatest passions – literature, music and Scotland, especially Nairn.
